Silva Trail Runner Free Headlamp

Five generations of refinement have gone into the Silva Trail Runner Free, and the most noticeable change is the one you stop noticing immediately: there are no external cords to snag, bounce, or tangle during a run.

Silva's Free Technology integrates the power cord directly into the headband, eliminating the loose cables that distract from your stride and catch on branches or gear. The headband itself is soft with a silicone inner grip that stays put without clamping down, and at 55 grams without batteries the balance between front headlamp unit and rear battery case keeps the whole setup feeling like it belongs on your head rather than fighting against your movement. The flat textile cord lies flush and doesn't twist or knot.

The included Hybrid Battery Case accepts either 3x AAA batteries or the Silva rechargeable Hybrid Battery (sold separately), so you can start with disposables and upgrade when your running volume warrants it. The case mounts on the rear of the headband or connects via the included extension cord to a jacket pocket, which helps maintain battery warmth and extends burn time in cold conditions. A built-in red rear safety light adds rearward visibility without needing a separate accessory. Silva's Intelligent Light beam combines spot and flood coverage tuned specifically for running pace.
